Der Wasserlandschaftsraum Dahme ist von außergewöhnlicher Qualität und Schönheit. Hier verbindet sich Naturraum, Freizeitqualität und auch industrieller Charme mit der Ruhe und Gelassenheit, welche Flüsse im Allgemeinen ausstrahlen. Diese einzigartige Naturqualität maximal zu inszenieren ist die zentrale Entwurfsidee des Wohnhauses:
Eine großformatige, acht Meter tiefe Steganlage vor dem eigentlichen Gebäude führt die einzelnen Wohnungen ganz nahe zum Wasser – so dass Wohnung und Wasser scheinbar miteinander verschmelzen. Der Steg ist ein Hybrid aus privaten Balkonen bzw. Freiräumen und gleichzeitig Erschließungselement. Damit steht der Steg für Aussicht, Freizeit, Erholung, Vergnügen, Genuss aber auch für soziale Interaktion, Gemeinschaft und Wir-Gefühl. Er „stegt“ für eine Art Badeseeeffekt.Man kann sagen: Dieser Steg IST das Gebäude, denn er prägt das Haus visuell und auch inhaltlich. Er ist gleichzeitig Gesicht und Seele des Bauwerkes.
Alle Wohnungen sind durchgesteckt konzipiert und verfügen daher über zwei Himmelsrichtungen. Dies lässt die Bewohner Tages- aber auch Jahreszeiten intensiv erleben.
Steg am Wasser ist außerordentlich kompakt und damit ressourcenschonend konzipiert. Sein rund 12m tiefen Grundbaukörper verfügt über ein interessantes Fassaden-Volumensverhältnis und führt zu einem minimalen Wärmeaustrag pro Wohnung. Dabei versorgt nur eine einzige vertikale Erschließungseinheit den gesamten Baukörper mit seinen insgesamt 28 Wohneinheiten. Innenliegende Gänge und Verbindungen gibt es nicht (Minimierung von Errichtungs-, Heiz- und Reinigungsaufwand). Die soziale Nachhaltigkeit ist allerdings die zentrale Tugend des Bauwerks, in welchem eigentlich alles auf Gemeinschaft, Austausch, Kommunikation und Miteinander ausgerichtet ist - Steg am Wasser ist dabei ein Bauwerk, welches Zusammenleben regelrecht inszeniert und zur zentralen Gebäudedramaturgie erklärt.
The Dahme waterscape is of exceptional quality and beauty. Here, natural space, recreational quality and also industrial Charm are combined with the peace and serenity that rivers generally exude. To stage this unique natural quality to the maximum is the central design idea of the residential building:
A large-scale, eight-meter-deep pier in front of the actual Building leads the individual apartments very close to the water - so that Apartment and water seem to merge. The jetty is a Hybrid of private balconies or open spaces and at the same time a development element. Thus, the footbridge stands for view, leisure, recreation, Pleasure, enjoyment, but also for social interaction, community, and Sense of togetherness. It "stands" for a kind of bathing lake effect. You can say: This footbridge IS the building, because it shapes the house visually and also in terms of content. He is both the face and the soul of the building.
All apartments are designed in a through-going manner and therefore have two points of the compass. This allows the residents to intensively experience daytime but also seasons.
Footbridge on the water is exceptionally compact and thus designed to conserve resources. Its approximately 12m-deep base structure has an interesting facade-to-volume ratio and results in minimal heat dissipation per apartment. At the same time, only a single vertical access unit supplies the entire structure with its total of 28 residential units. There are no interior corridors and connections (minimizing construction, heating and cleaning costs). However, social sustainability is the central virtue of the building, in which everything is actually oriented towards community, exchange, communication and togetherness - Footbridge on the water is a building that literally stages living together and declares it to be the central dramaturgy of the building.
